Raisins


Raisin is dried grape which is a rich source of iron, potassium, calcium and vitamins B . It has antioxidant properties and helps to prevent cell damage. Raisins are the ripe and dried grape that according to the type of grape, the method and condition of drying and added permitted additives, are sold in the market under different names, and like other dried fruits can be found all over the year. Available fiber in raisins helps to reduce cholesterol and improve performance of intestine, also it has sufficient amount of potassium that can reduce blood pressure and prevents liquids excrete from the body.
Consumption of the raisins is useful for bone health and prevents osteoporosis due to high calcium amount. Moreover Selenium in raisins is excellent for skin health. 
Raisins was produced in Iran and Egypt in 2000 BC. In Rome it was kind of a reward to people who decorated places of worship, and were used as a reward for winners of sports competitions. Farmers across the Iran produce a large variety of different species of grapes and raisins by different methods that are being used in cooking and as nuts.
